What is an ePortfolio?
In simple words, and ePortfolio is an electronic portfolio.
But what is a portfolio?
A portfolio is a systematic collection of work that represents activities, accomplishments, and achievements over a specific period of time in one or more areas of the curriculum. Essentially, it is like a resume that includes more details about that person.
Why is it important?
Why should I worry about having an ePortfolio?
Having an ePortfolio can be beneficial in many ways. First off, learning to make an ePortfolio in itself is a good skill to have. While you create one it allows you to think about the skills and achievements you have gathered over time and reflect over what you might've achieved in school and other activities. Aside from learning to create one, and going through the process of creating an ePortfolio, it is good to have all of those achievements and information about yourself put into one organized place.
What can I use it for?
Once you go through the process of creating one, what can you use it for? As mentioned before, it is essentially a resume that includes more details about who you are, including your education, specific experiences from volunteering or past jobs, and more! These pieces of information all in one piece on a professional ePortfolio can be a great way to present skills and past work to potential employers. Having one place that displays all of your achievements can make it easier to share with others for specific opportunities.
