What is a Blog?
A blog is defined as a web log, which would regularly be updated by posts relating to the purpose of the blog. Some blogs can be personal journals for people to just write their thoughts and share it with friends, or others. Some blogs can be used for professional purposes, or informal posts. Some examples may be a chef's blog sharing cooking recipes, and more. Another example may be someone with a sports blog, sharing their accomplishments and progress as they train.
Here's one example :
How do I start my own blog?
Starting a blog can seem a little bit intimidating, but once I was able to get started, and found the right format for me, I started to get a hang of it. There are many websites that provide free sites that allow you to set up your own blog, here is a site that lists a few.
There are also some very useful and interesting videos on youtube that talk about writing blogs, how to start one, and what to do when writing one. This video is one of my favorite ones, as it is broken down simply and easy to understand and follow.
What does this have to do with me?
Personally, I never thought about blogging to be something I would ever want to do. Although, when I learned a little bit more about the purpose and the benefits you can get from writing a blog, I thought that it may actually be something a bit useful.
Some people already like to write down their own thoughts in a journal or a diary, or something similar. A blog seems to be a great way to do that. Some benefits that I found that come with blogging is that it is very convenient to look back on when I need to. I will also be able to see the time stamps of which each post was made. I also enjoy writing blogs due to the fact that it is very easy and most blog sites make writing a blog very simple and easy to follow.
